Haisla Collins is mixed media artist of mostly Tsimshian , Nisga'a and Gitxsan and Scotish and mixed european ancestry, Living and working on Musqueam Territory also known as Vancouver, BC. She has a BFA from Emily Carr University, and has been actively teaching art and indigenous cultural traditions and creating community since 2010. Best known for "Sisters Daughters, Clan Mothers" (Main floor central Vancouver Public Library). And Spirits of the Realms on 600 Beatty St.. Her work is heavily influenced by Modernism, formline Northwest Coast design, Chinese, Egyptian, Hindo and Mexican art forms, DTES community of artists and characters and Traditional peoples all over the world. Her work is expressionistic, whimsical bold and bright. Haisla is part of this years BIG PRINT PROJECT in China Town, she is the former coordinator of the Aboriginal Artisan Program and Raven's Eye Mentorship Program, was director of the blessed Kateri mural project. Mural painter of “Through the Eye of the Raven” Largest public art in Western Canada. Founder of Raven's Eye Studio and member of Indigenous women Artist Collective. She has also been involved in many public art projects, and events, has juries submissions and been involved with orchestrating and participating in community environments. She is also a singer and harmonica player with blues and roots band "Nasty, Brutish and Short" This year her artist team won the 150+ Vancouver Mural contest and will be painting the wall at 600 block beatty street this coming summer
